Recently, reSourcers from far and wide were able to gather for our Annual Board & Staff Retreat! We hope you enjoy this glimpse into our time together and some highlights from our gathering.
reSource Board members, staff, and spouses gathered in Deep Bay, British Columbia at the beginning of June for our Annual reSource Retreat and Board Meeting. As a remote-working organization, with staff and board members placed across Canada and around the world, the face-to-face time that we share together each June is precious. We join together in expectation that God will move and guide us as a team.
A highlight this year was hearing from Dr. Elizabeth Sendek (reSource Director) and Dr. Mariel deluca Voth (reSource Consultant) on their years of service within Christian theological education. Elizabeth shared how, after many years, theological education is still exciting to her:
“When I see students or graduates catch a glimpse of who God is and it moves to lives that are shaped by that understanding. When I articulate a deep truth in a simple way that everyone can understand and that truth actually illuminates the reading of the situation that they’re in—the context of the church, for example.”

We enjoyed updates from from Dr. Nancy Njagi (Local Leaders International Africa Director) on the Africa Mile Deep strategy and its association projects as well as from Dr. Evan Hunter (VP, Scholar Leaders) on re-establishing theological education in Ukraine.

Set along the beautiful natural coastline of Vancouver Island, it is a joy to see God work through our conversations over meals, Board meetings, sharing about our lives with each other, tackling challenging topics with robust conversations about our projects and our organization, singing, and laughing.
