It is a common theme among theological students that even as they begin their theological education, they are already involved in serving and leading in some way. These recent graduates from our partner school, Arab Baptist Theological Seminary, are a great example of how theological training is equipping Christian leaders in their real lives.
Hi! I’m Samar. I am Syrian and I serve in Syria.
“I first joined ABTS because I was looking for an opportunity to grow in my theological knowledge and ministerial skills without compromising on my ministry or family. The Online Program allowed me to mature spiritually, grow intellectually, and gain the necessary skills to carry out contextual ministry while also balancing my family and church responsibilities. I currently serve with children and teens through my church and through Youth for Christ. I also serve with Child Evangelism Fellowship by carrying out children’s programs and training and equipping new leaders for ministry. I pray that one day I can start a children’s centre that can help children live according to God’s will.”
Hi! I’m Abdel Rahman. I am Syrian and I serve in Lebanon.
“Studying through the Certificate in Ministry program opened my eyes to so many avenues for me to grow in. It highlighted the importance of fellowship within the church and how healthy fellowship can help us build bridges with the community around us. The mentorship element of my studies taught me that it is okay to ask for help. We all need support, and having mature believers in our lives who can give us counsel is an important aspect of maintaining a healthy ministry. I currently serve through home groups and a discipleship ministry. Studying theology helped me see how the Lord has been working in my life and how He has prepared me to provide pastoral care and discipleship. My vision today is to see the Lord glorified in the Arab world through a multiplication movement of disciples that reach out to and equip other disciples.”
Hi! I’m Zarmine. I am Lebanese and I serve in Lebanon.
“With each passing course through my theological education, I grew to love Christ more and more. I learned to build bridges based on common ground and mutual understanding and seek to share the gospel in a manner that is contextual to those I am serving. While studying, I began to serve in pastoral and discipleship ministries at my church and my training helped me serve more effectively. The Lord shaped me through every course I took, and for that I am grateful. I pray that we all continue to be formed into His image, so that we reflect Him better wherever we may be.”
These are the kinds of students that donors support through reSource. Thank you for your partnership in this important work! As Zarmine shared, may “…we all continue to be formed into His image, so that we reflect Him better wherever we may be.”
