Giàng, A Slinh’s Story

Meet Giàng, A Slinh

Giàng (family name) A Slinh (given name) is a 28 year old Vietnamese student studying at Hanoi Bible College in Hanoi, Vietnam. He and his wife have two children. They are members of Grace Evangelical Church in a rural district of Northeast Vietnam where A Slinh participates in church activities and leads the church in worship.

He writes, “When studying at HBC, my family has faced many difficulties. With me at school, my wife has had to bear the burden of raising our children and working. Currently, my wife is suffering from right elbow pain which has been there for 2-3 months. Also, our son has to go away to school and we worry about him.”

In the midst of their struggles, A Slinh is grateful that God has provided enough food for his family and that donors have helped to pay his HBC tuition fees, without which he wouldn’t have the money to study. He also gives thanks for God’s love for the Hmong people. God is opening ways for his church in the mountains of northern Vietnam and bringing new followers of Jesus.

A Slinh asks that you would pray

  • for his wife’s healing and for strength as she cares for their children alone
  • that God would protect his son while he studies away from home
  • that God would continue to provide financially for the Giàng family
  • for his own studies

Opening Doors For Future Christian Leaders

reSource partners with Bible colleges to train leaders for the church in majority world contexts, equipping and training individuals who will emerge as resourceful, indigenous Christian leaders in their context. By sponsoring students who are training in local Bible colleges, local churches are assured of a steady flow of pastors, evangelists, church planters, and ministry leaders. Upon graduation, students not only know their local culture but are able to minister for decades supported by their local church.
